Like a lot of older comedians, Letterman has always been a dick. People will use any excuse to justify the behavior of someone considered to be “an icon”. He was laughing and the audience was laughing so she must have been in on it, right? If he stuck his foot out and tripped her on stage and everyone could hear her ankle snap but he and the audience were laughing, would we think she was in on it?

That photoshop image of kendal looks like they removed the seams and put muscular definition on a barbie doll. For me it was unsettling to look at. She didn't look real let alone alive. I have no sympathy for lindsey lohan... or anyone else who's life they put in the limelight. If you decide to make yourself a public icon so-to-speak then I don't believe you have any secrets except for the ones that haven't been exposed yet and you'd better be able to handle it or get eaten alive because you've made this decision. People like Letterman who joke and cannot tell that their joke is not a joke or taken as. Is what is wrong. Social body language matters. And usually the personality type will keep going because they do not realize, or are naive/malicious about it. Sometimes you joke around and while yes, it is a joke. Laugh. But sometimes people say some jokes that are close to home. Like people who joke around about things they know about your past or something. Not knowing that trauma affects you slightly still. Not saying that people are sensitive. But people should know that sometimes people are gonna feel threatened because of trauma. And what can you do then? Trauma is trauma. You can blame the person, yourself, or simply realize that right now you should stop. Because it is not funny. It sucks. I know. Sometimes I do not wanna take what people say so seriously, but the fact that things happened when I was younger over triumphs my mind and allows it to remember when you joke around. I may have misinterpreted it, but I feel that Letterman knew it was a heavy topic and was trying to lighten it, by saying it in a jokey way - without realising that he was actually making her uncomfortable. But in any case, the producers (or whoever writes the interview questions) should have checked whether she was okay with those topics before the live event.
