Owner greed isn’t the problem, the problem is player and agent greed and of course Manchester City and PSG who fuel it. That is why the big clubs are all in financial trouble spending for champions league while not always qualifying. Fans have been duped by Sky and UEFA propaganda and all that has changed is they now have all of the power. Hurray! So when the next premier league deal is being negotiated for half of what it is now, you can blame yourselves for being useful idiots. Oh, and I hope you enjoy watching the Manchester Oiler’s winning the PL ad-infinitum.

The problem in Europe, is that they do not realize that their leagues are supported by a global, not just a local audience. They have the best teams and players thanks to all the money they get from overseas. To cater that audience, and get even more money they have to make changes. If they dont do that, the best soccer will be played elsewhere soon, and they will be watching it at the distance via online or tv,.

Although I don’t watch football, i can really emphasis with anyone who’s been let down by this decision. I’m an f1 fan and this year they’re introducing a “new thing” to the sport called sprint race and it just ruins the history of tge sport plus the excitement. It’s our duty to don’t let that happen.

The only thing I don't agree with is the 5 clubs being invited to participate.. get 5 more members and be done with it. I also don't agree with FIFA banning players from participating for their country. I am sure there is money to be made for both entities if the super league follow the model of the USA with their competitions, and UEFA revamp the CL to elevate what they currently have now. They can relinquish all support to super league clubs and redistribute to other clubs and create something even bigger.

Perez: “It cannot be that in England, the six lose money and 14 make money. In Spain the top three lose money, and the others make money.” If you’re losing money it’s because you’re spending a lot more money! Cut wages and stop spending 100’s of millions on transfer every summer. This is ultimately every clubs own responsibility to manage its own budget and finances. Perez and these other club owners think they can spend the most money and should be compensated for free. The entitlement is damning. Nobody has forced them to spend more money, this is why football pyramid is so important. Bc these clubs if they cannot be sustainable, will and should fall from grace. And another club will take their place as top clubs. This is the beauty of football.

ESL is lame without relegation rule! It gives no door for the smaller clubs who can win tickets with great performances. Glub like Atalanta and Leichester City deserve a chance ! Uefa is already ruinning football with their BS new UCL format ! Don't sound like everyone is saint, if a business can't profit itself nobody s gonna invest in! But clubs indeed do have social responsibility for their local cities and fans! But it doesn't mean they are obligated to do anything to comply with the UEFA with unlimited power in an unfair manner ! Who will rather lose money to feed others? Common logic!

I'm expecting to see an in depth analysis of this. There is much at play here (financially it could balance spending in top clubs) and this Super League would have been a benefit (GREAT) if it could live along-side the current leagues ,(plus state the founding clubs as not being permanent members) essentially replacing the champions league. I just can't believe fans are not open to giant games being played every other week in a fair league competition vs the current random elimination to away goals (causes speculative play).

Football is a sport. The nature of sport is fair competition. The fascination of the sport football is that truly anyone can beat anyone. The fascination of the champions league isn't just good teams playing against each other but small clubs beating big ones. That would have been completely gone. Also sport means that if you're good enough you can qualify for and win any tournament (according to your region). A tournament some teams can't qualify for and other teams don't have to qualify for is against the nature of sport
I fuckin hate my life

Super League is an attempted Americanization of European football. American non-meritocratic structure. American capital. Even the name brings to mind American superhero obsession. The next development will no doubt be American in-your-face advertising every 5 to 10 minutes. Welcome to the Super Soccer League!

You all are something else there must be a major change in the sport of soccer its just a matter of time it happens! To many times soccer isn’t interesting or exciting to watch when it comes to the club league’s over the past years. I believe a change like this will be a major step into the right direction long term its just hard initially to accept these changes that could effect the history of this sport. But something has to be done let’s all be honest soccer competition has been at its lowest they need to make the game exciting for all of us to watch and that’s the real truth to all this!!

Although I am against the creation of this particular Super League, you'll see that in the near future (possibly 2024) UEFA will create its own semi-closed League, in the place of UCL. And then everyone will shut up. So quit crying that "football is not what it used to be". Newsflash, football has evolved anyway and it doesn't care about your feelings, honestly. Unless your tears will transform into Euros, UEFA doesn't care. That's why they will eventually create a semi-closed league in the place of UCL. The whole point is that Perez and his boys wanted to make money and take a big shit on UEFA. That didn't work well. Although Perez is the absolute godfather of European (world maybe) football, he can't beat UEFA. I want to see how everyone will react, once UEFA does the same in a few years. Freaking hypocrites.

One thing, it takes the defeat out of victory. No matter how bad those clubs are, they won't get kicked out the league - no relegation whatsoever, unlike in the Champions League. And the reason why those 12 clubs signed up was basically because they got bigger money (and debt, heh) compared to other. No offence to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City fans, but they aren't really on the top this season. The fans know Champions League system aren't that perfect, and it actually already profit-based since long ago, but in there there's still an actual - at least to some degree - sense of competition on it.

Because it is not about the sport it's about the money It's like the rich and the rich play together to get richer and the smaller clubs getting poorer And the rich people behind the clubs are often assholes which got there money by destroying the life of others

Is this really any different that the Championsleague setup? Mega clubs automatically entering into competition and then throwing in a shit team or two that had to jump through hoops just to participate? The hypocrisy of this whole ordeal has been worse than the super league proposal itself. At least they aren’t beating around the bush about it while Uefa is supposedly championing for fairness when they recently fucked up the entire competition a few years ago to make more money and screw over minor clubs.
