Michael McDowell has won the 2021 Daytona 500 after Joey Logano made contact with Brad Keselowski out front, causing them to spin out and wreck the field as McDowell maneuvers past for the victory. It was the first career Cup victory for McDowell.

It appeared Logan was blocking teammate from maneuvering high around him. As they came down middle of track Keselowski had too much car off draft from Logano's blocking tactic. That simple. If Logano realized that it was his teammate trying to go up high around him, Logano should have given him that ability to pass him.

There is too much gray area in Nascar's rulebook that its hard to understand sometimes. This has nothing to do or against nobody, but I feel that when someone goes "trigger happy" like McDowell and wrecking the two leaders in this case, shouldn't get the win. There's all the footage and evidence to realize he caused the wreck. I know this has happened many times in the past and what-not but certainly feels a bit bitter when this happens. Nascar should be more precise and specific when it comes to these type of rules and situations. But nonetheless it is what it is and congratulations on McDowell for the win.
