I'm so lost? At 32 and below water freezes........so slow down dummies. And why in gods name would you stay in your car during all the chaos? What the heck? I heard Texans were smart and the new merica, now I'm thinking differently 🤔.

I am from Bay Area, California. I went down to Dallas to help my daughter who also got into a car accident. The people were driving very crazily fast on highways. I avoided the highway if possible, rather spent a bit more time on the city roads. I wish the authorities there can lower the speed limit.

On average one person every 15 seconds on the planet dies on a roadway, usually roadway deaths are very brutal painful and lonely as you perish,

The key is to get a good set of winter tires, and always go slow, usually about 45 on the interstate, but obviously living in texas they dont know that, this entire accident was caused by people driving too fast and not being prepared for the conditions..

OUR CHURCH OPENS EMERGENCY SHELTER - WILL PICK YOU UP! OpenDoor Church in Burleson has opened its doors to neighbors in need during this cold snap. “We are feeding people, keeping them warm and giving them shelter in the storm,” said Pastor Troy Brewer. “We’re getting several hundred more cots and blankets into the church, and want people to know that if you can get here, we’ve got a place for you.” And if you can’t, Brewer says call 877.413.0888 and his team will send a bus to pick you up. “We have a whole senior citizens home coming here and we’re prepared to have them here through the week,” Brewer said. "There is room for more!" Brewer said his team is used to dealing with crisis. Foreseeing the need for alternative power, OpenDoor rented an 18-wheel generator as a backup for power at the church. Brewer said the church has 24-hour security teams for the safety of the many families being sent there by the city of Burleson and beyond. “Again, you don’t have to live in Burleson for us to help you. If you can get here, we’re at 301 S. Dobson Burleson tx

Everybody is talking about that it’s a blind hill and that you can’t see over it but don’t realize that you’re supposed to slow down if you can’t see the other side of the road. It’s driving 101 to slow down on a curve or hill if you can’t see ahead of you. Speed was also a factor too because it’s Texas and we all know the speed limit there is high

From what I understand - There are no electronic warning signs on this bridge & interstate, to indicate bad weather (ice, sleet, snow, flooding, high winds, lanes closed due to accidents, etc) ... and maybe no electronic warning signs in many parts of TX. The State of TX is at least partially responsible for this tragedy. They should also start using embedded wires/pipe (at least in elevated roadway) to heat the traveled surface (especially lonnnng roadway elevations like this), since these are the first to ice up - there is no ground heat. From what I have heard, there are no salt & sand trucks also = police and emergency services are forced to try to shut everything down, as the tragedy is occuring. I live in south FL. I have not seen snow or ice here in more than 20 years. Yet - we have the electronic signs to indicate any weather problems (even non-hurricane winds, especially for tractor-trailers) & flooding, and lane closures. May our Lord comfort everyone - prayers for all the drivers, their families & loved ones, especially those families that lost a loved one in this tragedy. 🙏🙏🙏

It's those damn crazy semi truck drivers who think they own the road. Doing at least 70 miles an hour on an icy Road is asking for a huge accident to happen. Even in normal conditions they drive like this all the time down here in Dallas Texas. The 635 is a crazy Interstate to drive on

The night b4 this accident I dreamed it. It's really bothering me. If anyone can explain it to me I'd be extremely grateful. My dream. I was driving my daughter's car which is a white Jeep Cherokee (looks somewhat similar to the car on top) I was on the interstate just driving and out of the left side of my eye the passengers side a gas tanker rig had jack knifed and the back end was coming straight towards the car. I panicked hit the gas I got past the truck it went behind me but b4 I realized it I was driving so fast I couldn't stop I ran straight into a pile up that was already on the interstate. It hit the front end of the car and that's all I remember. I woke up. My heart breaks for these families and everyone involved I don't understand the dream. At first all day yesterday I was worried about my daughter thinking she was gonna get into an accident then last night I found out about this horrible accident. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Prayers for everyone and their families.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

It's icy here in Virginia today and while taking my son to work in a properly equipped vehicle I saw way too many people driving too damn fast for these conditions; until people slow down and equip their vehicles to handle this type of weather this will continue to happen; May God thank those 1st responders who risk everything to help people in need, think about how your actions could affect those 1st responders; I lost a great LT. in Fire Rescue due to a similar accident, and I am glad I don't have to run Fire Rescue anymore because it is very dangerous out there with all of those drivers who will not slow down. Please do so to save a life, it could be yours!

You want lower hiring standards, this is the result They hire a "student" right out of a driver training school and put him behind the wheel of an 80,000 vehicle. Here's the BIG surprise, not everyone is qualified to drive down the highway at 70 or 80 mph just because they graduated from some truck driving school.

That's the toll road they just finished too. I'm sure those people thought "I got a 4 wheel drive, I'm good". That just makes sure they are all 4 slipping. Plus in Texas you better be doing 200 mph or you're in the way. Hwy 287 just north of there is even worse.

People can't drive to begin with. Too fast. Cell phone. Make up. Reading. Too ignorant to slow down. Do every damn thing in the world in the car. Except drive. Willing to give their life to shave one second....one minute off the commute. Here's an unheard of idea....get up 20 minutes earlier........leave earlier....slower...umm...duh
Jordan Martirossian
This is why I fear highway driving during icy weather. Unlike snow where you could have some traction, on black ice there’s no traction. Highway speeds in these conditions is a recipe for disaster.

Its really sad & i pray for all the victims & their families. I’m glad the dog & mostly everyone was rescued. 6 have died so far. Rest in Heaven. The Truckers accidentally killed innocent people. I guess high taxes are a good thing. TX needs to raise taxes on the wealthy & buy salt trucks that will salt every morning from Nov till March, to save lives. Here in Cook County, IL, taxes are high but the salt trucks are out at 4am shovelling & Salting. In low Tax counties, the trucks dont come out till the next day & by that time, there already have been innumerable accidents.
